Decide which patriotic words you want to display and mix match different sized wooden stars for each letter. Spray paint the wooden stars and dowel rods, let dry and then turn over and paint other sides. Once wooden stars are dry apply letters and spray with glitter paints. Be sure you use a larger wooden star for your first letter to hide the front of the candle you will be attaching. Use red glitter paint on blue painted stars and use blue glitter paint on red painted stars. Hot glue a bout 1 /12 inches of the bottom of candle to the top of a dowel rod. Wrap 2 pieces of red copper wire around the dowel rod and candle and twist wire to tighten. Snip off excess wire. Hot glue your first letter of the word to hide the wire. Continue hot gluing the rest of the letters. Take 4 or more long lengths of ribbons and fold at the center. Run a piece of floral wire through the center and wrap floral tape around the base to hold. Snip off wire leaving about 2 inches of length. Tuck up into the back side of candle to hold in place. Spray paint onto bottom part of candle and let dry. Place in bottles filled with sand and enjoy. Cut off length of dowel rod if needed.
