Technique 1
Parents should cut the jelly bean tips and have them ready if children are participating.
Using a paring knife cut a small tip off of one end of jelly beans reserving the cut tips to create anthers for flower technique 2. Spear a gumdrop with a toothpick. Break open a jelly fruit candy and scrape out a little of the soft jelly with a toothpick. Rub the jelly onto the cut tip of jelly bean and press firmly onto the gumdrop. Repeat. Spear flowers into fruit jellies to stand up for display. Option: Brush imperfections with water to smooth out.
Technique 2
Chilling your gumdrops will keep them from sticking to the wax paper after you roll them out. Place a gum drop on a sheet of wax paper and then cover it with another sheet of wax paper. Place your rolling pin on top and press down on gum drop. Roll forward and then roll backwards to flatten into an oval shape. Don't roll too hard or your gumdrop will be flattened too much and won't hold it's weight up when attached to a lollipop. Once you have rolled out enough gumdrop petals, place one end of a gumdrop petal on the bottom side of lollipop and press firmly until it sticks. Remove your fingers in a rolling motion to prevent fingers from sticking to gum drop petal. Continue placing and pressing until you have shaped your flower. You can go back and cut the oval gumdrop petals in half and place and press another layer on top if you want more than one layer. Experiment until you reach your desired look. Create flower anthers by cutting small ends off of jelly beans and placing on top of lollipop using the center of fruit jelly candy as an adhesive (apply jelly center with a toothpick). Once you have finished your lollipop flower, poke it through a fruit jelly candy to stand up for display.
Spray paint your small flower pots with preferred colors and let dry. Fill with Easter confetti, tie on ribbon bow and place flower candies on top.
